Compost-Flow® Design Process
Composting is a highly sustainable way to reduce garden and food waste, but many users struggle to do it effectively. Poor understanding of the process often leads to slow decomposition, unpleasant odours, pest issues, and ultimately low-quality compost. These frustrations discourage continued composting and reduce its environmental impact.

Further Development and Refinement
I am currently in the process of developing the project further as a start-up, working on the design refinements, business and financial models.
Re-naming and IP
The product was formely known as Compo-Flow, however the name of the system as a whole was renamed to Compost-Flow®, with each individual prdouct being given its own name. The name Compost-Flow® was officially registered as a trademark in March 2026.
Design Changes
Refined works-like model/proof of concept of the Compo-Sense probe using an Arduino Nano, making it smaller and more compact, so that the workings can fit within the intended design of the probes outer-shell.
Re-designed main hardware unit, with larger top tray allowing more space for the waste to be filled in, with every other tray made smaller but still enough room for the probe to sit within, when in use. The probe slot was moved to the inside of the door to protetc it from the weather, also the slot for the tray divider was moved to the top of the unit above the top tray.
